Those stones are still on the bridge and I myself lifted one in each hand on many occasions and one market day, I carried them across the bridge and back, some four to five yards - Donald Dinnie.

Emmajane made history by becoming not only the 3rd assisted lady lifter of the stones but by becoming the first ever lady lifter to put the wind beneath the stones without the aid of handstraps. Her magnificent feat was witnessed by Malcolm Nicol, Jim & Rosemary Splaine, Brett Nicol, Stevie Shanks, Mark Haydock, Charlie Blair Oliphant, Lewis McLuckie, Martin Jancsics, Adam Galbraith, and the large crowd of spectators & press.
