1971 he used Bill Bangert's Harness and carried the stones accross the bridge and back in 23 seconds & 1973 Strap grip assisted lift and later on 3rd June 1973 Syd completed an unassisted lift witnessed by David Webster and Jack Shanks and a large crowd of press and spectators.
